Second Chance Stables & Draft Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, retirement and or responsible re-homing of draft breeds. Our rescue seeks to provide draft horses facing the slaughter pipeline with a safe place to heal and rehabilitate so they may have a second chance at the life they deserve.

My family and I met Kristie in 2021 and fell in love with her mission. After years of following her...we were given the opportunity to take in 2 mares for quarantine. Alice and Jayne! In 2023 my daughter wanted to do a donation to an animal rescue in lieu of birthday presents…I reached out to Kristie…and was immediately met with gratitude and appreciation. Fast forward and we have been able to donate gifts for the last few years, attend functions at the barn… events are never pressured and are a lot of fun! The herd at Second Chance are some of the sweetest animals and there is always a profound sense of beauty upon meeting any one of them and watching their healing journey…When they are hurting, when they are sore, when they are alone, starving and scared: Kristie will go and bring them home to be loved. Second Chance Stables opens their hearts to discarded animals. Kristie brings them into the rescue and offers them a soft landing where they heal and learn to trust humans again.
